HIGH HOPES CHALLENGE #94

Challenge #94 "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" hosted by Jeanne.....

I love Birthdays (especially mine)!! I have a whole lot of birthdays coming up in, around and shortly after the holiday season. I get completely discomboobalated making so many cards along with Christmas cards, so it was great to make a birthday card in advance (that's to say instead of the night before) LOL.

Anyway I embossed 'WILD PARTY' in black and coloured it with Tombow Markers. I love this adorable stamp and have been dying to colour it.....I was enjoying colouring so much I completely lost track of time and DH was waiting for dinner. I guess he knows me well enough to know NOTHING will tear me away so he went ahead and cooked dinner!!! Yes, that's right while I was colouring this sweet sweet man cooked my dinner. Steak, mushrooms, salad - it was amazing. God Bless this man! Lucky, Lucky me!

Okay so back to the card. I had some brown Bazzill cardstock that I embossed with a Cuttlebug folder awhile back and didn't use ...so as it so happened it was perfect for this card. I found some blue polka dot paper that matched my blue monster guy (brought out his eyes don't ya think). I used my MS punch and put a strip behind the image I mounted on blue cardstock. Put a "Happy Birthday" on top and there you have it. I think my son-in-law will like this one.

Thanks for stopping by and hope everyone has a good week - Don't eat too much candy on Trick or Treat Night!!!

Hugs...

HIGH HOPES CHALLENGE #93

HIGH HOPES CHALLENGE #93
This weeks challenge is a recipe - a circle, a scallop and 2 squares brought to by: Amy!

I love High Hopes little 'Mouse Tales' and thought he looked like a really studious little guy! I embossed him in black and coloured him with Tombows and Distress Inks. I used a denim colour for the card and added some navy cardstock and red cardstock. In my scrap bin I found this little red gingham check. I used my EK success punch to make the edges on the navy layer. I added an apple at the bottom, a ruler, and a couple of funky paper clips as embellishments. I see a school theme here. Great card for a teacher don't you think.

Okay so I used my Stickles too - but I was not too impressed with what it did to the book my little mouse buddy is holding. I always use a little paint brush to put my Stickles on with but this time I used red Stickles (there was my first mistake - as it didn't match as I expected) and I usually just go along the edge but I didn't like it so I spread it with my paint brush -second mistake) Oh well in the picture it kinda looks, well like suede. Yeah suede! There's an upside to everything LOL...

Stickles is the last thing I put on my cards so when its not to my liking I'm stuck with it (no pun intended).

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great week! May your Stickles always land where you want it to!!

HIGH HOPES CHALLENGE #92

This weeks challenge was Red and Green - brought to you by ME!! I love red and green. I can almost smell the pine and see those bright red berries on the holly bushes with a sprinkling of snow. Ask me in a few months how I feel about snow though lol. It has been a glorious Thanksgiving weekend here in Southwestern Ontario. Lots of beautiful sunshine, turkey and pumpkin pie.

On this challenge I chose the adorable new High Hopes GINGERBREAD HOUSE. I embossed the image in black and coloured with a combo of Tombows and Distress Inks. I used my MS fence punch to make a little fence for the front yard. I embellished the fence with some small holly and a little red rhinestone. I put a red satin bow in the corner with a peppermint and some holly and this time I added Crystal ultra fine loose glitter (I know I can barely believe it myself - NO Stickles)

Hope everyone has a fabulous week and please join us for the
