HIGH HOPES CHALLENGE #96

HIGH HOPE CHALLENGE #96
Good morning everyone! This is a short post this morning as my computer is acting up. I am rushing to get this on before it kicks me off the internet - again.
I embossed the snowman in black and coloured him with Tombow markers. I used some very tiny buttons in the same colours as the card and added some snowflake buttons (had to glue these to sit straight up on the card without falling over) I found some paper in my stash and I really like the turquoise and burgundy together (although not very traditiona - says DH)
Of course I added some glitter (Crystal fine from Art Glitter).
So happy freezin's season to everyone, and let your glitter always go where you want it to.

HIGH HOPES CHALLENGE #95
This weeks challenge is hosted by Alex...
I am a little bit late this morning. I slept in and my day usually goes downhill from there.
But none the less onward and upward so they say.
This weeks challenge is a step card. I decided to do a side step card as I had not attempted one before. There was a bit of a learning curve but got it after a couple of tries (I made templates first thank goodness)
I stamped my High Hopes images - Gingerbread Family in Heart, Peeking Ginger Tag (used just the gingerbread man), and Peeking Ginger (used just the gingerbread man). Of course I embossed.
I love all the High Hopes gingerbread "stuff" It is all just too cute!
I coloured them with a mix of Tombow markers and Distress Inks. Paper from my stash but where it comes from always escapes me (sorry about that - I am so forgetful)
I used my MS icicle punch along the 'mountain edges' and cut out my images and layered them on the card. I made a little snow drift for the bottom of the 'side' and added a big red bow for colour. Last but not least - GLITTER. I used Art Glitter ultra fine loose glitter in Crystal - I think it gives the look of icy snow.
Thanks for stopping by and I hope everyone has a great week and may your glitter always go where you want it too...

HIGH HOPES CHALLENGE #94

Challenge #94 "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" hosted by Jeanne.....

I love Birthdays (especially mine)!! I have a whole lot of birthdays coming up in, around and shortly after the holiday season. I get completely discomboobalated making so many cards along with Christmas cards, so it was great to make a birthday card in advance (that's to say instead of the night before) LOL.

Anyway I embossed 'WILD PARTY' in black and coloured it with Tombow Markers. I love this adorable stamp and have been dying to colour it.....I was enjoying colouring so much I completely lost track of time and DH was waiting for dinner. I guess he knows me well enough to know NOTHING will tear me away so he went ahead and cooked dinner!!! Yes, that's right while I was colouring this sweet sweet man cooked my dinner. Steak, mushrooms, salad - it was amazing. God Bless this man! Lucky, Lucky me!

Okay so back to the card. I had some brown Bazzill cardstock that I embossed with a Cuttlebug folder awhile back and didn't use ...so as it so happened it was perfect for this card. I found some blue polka dot paper that matched my blue monster guy (brought out his eyes don't ya think). I used my MS punch and put a strip behind the image I mounted on blue cardstock. Put a "Happy Birthday" on top and there you have it. I think my son-in-law will like this one.

Thanks for stopping by and hope everyone has a good week - Don't eat too much candy on Trick or Treat Night!!!

Hugs...

HIGH HOPES CHALLENGE #93

HIGH HOPES CHALLENGE #93
This weeks challenge is a recipe - a circle, a scallop and 2 squares brought to by: Amy!

I love High Hopes little 'Mouse Tales' and thought he looked like a really studious little guy! I embossed him in black and coloured him with Tombows and Distress Inks. I used a denim colour for the card and added some navy cardstock and red cardstock. In my scrap bin I found this little red gingham check. I used my EK success punch to make the edges on the navy layer. I added an apple at the bottom, a ruler, and a couple of funky paper clips as embellishments. I see a school theme here. Great card for a teacher don't you think.

Okay so I used my Stickles too - but I was not too impressed with what it did to the book my little mouse buddy is holding. I always use a little paint brush to put my Stickles on with but this time I used red Stickles (there was my first mistake - as it didn't match as I expected) and I usually just go along the edge but I didn't like it so I spread it with my paint brush -second mistake) Oh well in the picture it kinda looks, well like suede. Yeah suede! There's an upside to everything LOL...

Stickles is the last thing I put on my cards so when its not to my liking I'm stuck with it (no pun intended).

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great week! May your Stickles always land where you want it to!!

HIGH HOPES CHALLENGE #92

This weeks challenge was Red and Green - brought to you by ME!! I love red and green. I can almost smell the pine and see those bright red berries on the holly bushes with a sprinkling of snow. Ask me in a few months how I feel about snow though lol. It has been a glorious Thanksgiving weekend here in Southwestern Ontario. Lots of beautiful sunshine, turkey and pumpkin pie.

On this challenge I chose the adorable new High Hopes GINGERBREAD HOUSE. I embossed the image in black and coloured with a combo of Tombows and Distress Inks. I used my MS fence punch to make a little fence for the front yard. I embellished the fence with some small holly and a little red rhinestone. I put a red satin bow in the corner with a peppermint and some holly and this time I added Crystal ultra fine loose glitter (I know I can barely believe it myself - NO Stickles)

Hope everyone has a fabulous week and please join us for the

High Hopes Challenge #89 - WELCOME TO THE FARM

Well Happy Fall Yáll!!! Hope everyone is enjoying the cooler weather. Don't you just love the fresh air now in the evening and early morning.

I stamped "Laurie's Pumpkin Patch" with black Versafine and embossed it in black. I coloured it with Tombow and distress inks. I just love this stamp! I used the "Pumpkin border"to cut out the pumpkins and the sunflowers for the corners. I love that crow so much I just had to put another in the corner with the sunflowers. Papers are from my stash (OMG where did all this paper come from) Even with all this paper I never seem to have the 'right' colours so I think I 'need' to buy more LOL.

Hope your day is great and thanks for stopping by.

High Hopes Challenge 88

Hi Everyone! Hope you are having a great day. It's hard to believe it is September 14th - where has the summer gone. I do love this lovely fall weather though.

This is my card for the High Hopes Challenge #88 - SPOTS AND DOTS.

I love the little mice from Laurie Furnell's just released collection at High Hopes Rubber Stamps. I embossed this little guy (he is just soooo cute) in black and coloured him with Distress Inks. The dotted green paper is from Nana's Kids collection from DCWV. The other c/s is from Bazzill. I used my Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder for he first layer (can't have enough spots or dots you know) and I found four little buttons that matched perfectly and added them as an embellishment. Of course I added my Stickles!

Hope your week is just grand! Thanks for stopping by...

HIGH HOPES CHALLENGE #87

This week's challenge is It's a Girl, It's a Boy. I did this card in pink (I have 5 grandsons...so I really like to do anything in pink) This is one of the images I coloured back in July at the trailer. I stamped"Bubble Bath Bradley" with Memento ink onto Prism Smooth White cardstock and coloured it with Copic Markers. The papers were in my stash (I don't know where I got them). I have had a paper addiction for so long that I have papers I no longer remember where they came from.

I made the flowers with three of my EK success flower punches and of course I added Stickles.

Hope your day is great and thanks for stopping by.

NEW RELEASE FROM HIGH HOPES STAMPS - SNEAK PEEK MONDAY!
Wow - what a great new release from High Hopes Rubber Stamps. It was so difficult to choose which ones to use first. I chose this cute little witch with a pumkin and the boo bat. I embossed the witch and the bat in black and coloured them with Tombow markers. I cut out the witch and the bats and mounted them on some orange c/s that I distressed with Black Soot Distress Ink. I added some co-ordinating papers and of course stickles.

High Hopes Challenge 86

Hi Folks,

Well we sure have cooled down here in lovely Southwestern Ontario. Thank goodness we got some rain!!! We were a wee bit dry around here. The grass and flowers have started to recuperate from their day long drink.

This week's High Hopes Challenge was "Anything but a Card" from Alex. I decided to do a Tag. We have a birthday coming up in our Family and I thought this might be cute. And of course I just couldn't resist one more summer theme. Aw, those lazy hazy days of summer.
For this challenge I made a 'creamsicle'. I used my circle scallop Spellbinder die to take a bite out of the popsicle. I stamped and emboss Shelbert the turtle in black and coloured him with Tombow markers. I added a popsicle stick, some ribbon and of course stickles.

Make sure you check out the High Hopes blog to see what great creations all the Divas have come up with. Come join in!! Enter the High Hopes Challenge with your 'Anything but a Card' using your favorite High Hopes Stamp.

I hope everyone in SW Ontario enjoys this cooler weather (I sure don't miss the humidity). I hope you all have a super day! Enjoy your Sunday.

High Hopes Challenge 85

OMG..me is sooo bad. I have been working long hours (thank goodness I have now have a little help at the office). I am also a bit more forgetful than usual (too many things in this old brain) Anyway I just realized I didn't post my challenge card to my blog AHHHH! So here it is - he's my little fishing friend. I coloured him with a combo of distress inks and tombow markers. I made his fishing rod with a stick from the yard and wrapped it with heavy black thread. I borrowed the little fishing hooks from my DH tackle box. The five o clock shadow on my fishing buddy looks like my hubby after some of his fishing trips, LOL
Hope everyone has a great day!

The Star Grad

Hi Everyone, I hope you are all having a great Canada Day weekend! I did this card for my grandson's Grade 8 graduation. He looked so handsome in his tuxedo! I am so very proud of him. I coloured the card with Tombow markers and cut the stars with my Spellbinder wizard. The embossing folder is from a collection from Holland for use in pretty much any die cut machine.
All supplies are from The Rubber Room and Online Store Enjoy your weekend.

Colour Create Challenge #47

This is the card I did for the Colour Create Challenge. This challenge was the picture of Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter in Alice in Wonderland. You could pick any 2 colours and I just couldn't choose so I added all the colours! Of course I put stickles on the card and I used some ribbon the same colour as the band on his hat and put a stick pin in the ribbon. I know, I know I went overboard but I loved all the colours and had a blast colouring.

Hangin' Around Frog

This is one of the new stamps from High Hopes from the artist Dustin Pike. I coloured this with distress inks, and finally used my paisley nestabilties. I made some 'bull rushes' from some brown velvet paper rolled around some wire with some brown liquid applique in the centre.

KAREN'S BIRTHDAY CARD

Hi Everyone!
This is a card I did for my best friend at her hubby's request. He wanted to give her a card for a rubber stamper and card maker. What pressure! I had no idea what to do but here is what I came up with. I used Rhonda the Stamping Angel by High Hopes Rubber Stamps and gave here Fantasy Film wings. I die cut some shrink plastic and stamped Stamp 'til you Drop, Stamp around the Clock etc and shrunk them for some embellishments. I don't know where I got these stamps from but I think they worked well for this card.
Hope everyone has a great day! The weather is perfect today at the beach.
